Water Supply: The heating system, which includes the boiler or heat source, provides hot water that serves as the heat transfer medium. This hot water is circulated through the radiator system to distribute heat.

Inlet Valve: The radiator has an inlet valve typically located at the bottom or side of the radiator. This valve allows hot water to enter the radiator and flow through the internal channels.
Internal Columns: Inside the radiator, there are vertical columns or tubes that serve as channels for the water flow. These columns are connected at the top and bottom by horizontal sections called headers.
Water Flow: When the heating system is operational, hot water from the boiler is pumped or naturally circulated through the pipes and reaches the radiator. The water enters the radiator through the inlet valve and enters the first column at the bottom of the radiator.
Upward Movement: As the hot water enters the first column, it rises through the column, transferring heat to the metal surface. The heat is then radiated into the surrounding air, warming up the room.
Headers and Crossflow: Once the water reaches the top of the column, it enters the header, which is a horizontal section that connects the columns. From the header, the water flows horizontally to the next column through small openings or vents in the top of each column.
